Cremation is an option more families are choosing as part of their funeral plans. The William F. Conroy Funeral Home, Inc. takes very seriously the trust placed in us in the care and handling of a family’s loved one. Therefore, when a family chooses cremation, they can be assured that their loved one will be treated with the utmost respect and dignity.

There are many reasons why people choose cremation. Some believe cremation is a less expensive funeral alternative. Some select cremation for environmental reasons. Whatever your reasons are, we will be there to help you and explain the many options available.

If you choose cremation, we strongly advise you not to select a funeral home based on price alone. Not all funeral homes are the same, and quite frankly, some are better than others. We strongly encourage you to ask questions about how your loved one will be handled from the very beginning to the conclusion of the cremation process. For 75 years, we have provided generations of families with professional, personal and dignified service.

Cremation Services we provide:

Funeral Services followed by cremation: Prior to the cremation, the family may choose to have a visitation and funeral service with the body of their loved one present. The funeral service may be at the family’s church or the funeral home. We will explain to you the different service and merchandise options available and help you to make an informed decision of the type of service to best commemorate the life lived.

Limited Funeral Services followed by cremation: Some families may plan services where the visitation is for an hour prior to the funeral service. Such limited services usually take place within the same day and may occur at the funeral home or family church if appropriate.

Immediate Cremation: For families that select immediate cremation with no viewing or service, the William F. Conroy Funeral Home, Inc. will arrange for the deceased to be removed from the place of death into our care and custody, provide dignified transport to and from the crematory, coordinate the necessary legal and medical documents the cremation and return the cremated remains to the authorized next of kin. We can also assist the family in planning a memorial service or arrange for the final disposition of the cremated remains.

If you have questions, please contact us 412-331-5192. We will be happy to answer your questions and discuss the many options available.
