YVETTE L. SIMMONS (WILLIAMS)
Yvette L. Simmons, of Sheraden, passed away in her home on November 25, 2025, as a result of a sudden, but painless heart attack. Yvette was born to Evesta Williams and the late Robert Donald Williams “Bunny” in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Yvette was married to John Simmon; the high school sweethearts shared 41 faithful years together. She was the mother of Taylor Rae Simmons, mother-in-law to Scott Davis, and a strong maternal figure for her niece, Carlee Marie Willaims. She was the grandmother of Carter Quinn Davis and step grandmother to Gianni C. Davis, sister of Craig and Scott Williams, and dear sister-in-law of Debbie Kamenar, Elizabeth Caivano, Dianne Santel and Trisha Simmons.
At the end of the day Yvette valued nothing more than her family. Wife, mother, and grandmother are three titles she held with the utmost pride because she would stop at nothing to ensure that those she loved most were taken care of. Yvette’s boundless altruism, fierce creativity, and people skills made her extremely adept at cosmetology. She loved to devise a new hairstyle for her clients while listening to their countless stories. Her personal and loving approach to business created lifelong bonds that only furthered the scope of her family.
Her boundless altruism was not just for people, but for animals too. She had dogs all her life, and to her they were just another set of hairy children. Hopefully, she might be reunited with her sweet golden retriever, Rusty, who passed away a few years ago. Yvette’s daughter, Taylor, recalls a time when Yvette would feed the birds that accidentally flew into the mall French Fries. For Yvette there was no such thing as “big” or “small” need. If someone or something needed care she provided it.
In her downtime Yvette kept herself busy with her green thumb, her cooking ladle, and her penchant for all things spooky. Halloween was among one of her favorite times of year, and a joy for the macabre is something she passed on to her daughter, Taylor. Our lives are forever changed in her absence. May Yvette live on in all of our hearts as the passionate, loving, and strong woman we all knew her to be.
Family and friends are welcomed MONDAY, December 1st from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the William F. Conroy Funeral Home,Inc., Burial and Cremation Services, 2944 Chartiers Avenue, Sheraden. Funeral mass in Ascension Church of St. Philip Parish, 114 Berry St., Pgh 15205 on Tuesday at 10:30 AM.
