REGAN
Timothy J., Jr.
Age 94, of Pittsburgh passed away Sunday, July 12, 2020. Born April 22, 1926, on Neville Island, he was the son of the late Margaret J. Regan (Krouse) and Timothy J. Regan Sr. Tim was a Navy veteran, enlisting on his seventeenth birthday, serving in the Pacific during World War II and also during the Korean Conflict. He later joined the Pittsburgh Police. In his exemplary 33-year career as a uniformed police officer and detective his experiences ran from delivering a baby in Point State Park to a number of encounters that resulted in his being cited for bravery. Tim’s quick wit and kind heart drew people from all walks of life to respect him and enjoy his company.
He is survived by a daughter, Janice Ernst and her Husband David and a son Richard Dawson and his Wife Debra, a brother, Michael and his Wife Mary and a sister Patricia Rosenberger. He is also survived by Five grandchildren, Tim Ernst, Melissa Ernst, James Hansen, Jordan Shafer and Zachary Dawson and one great-granddaughter, McKinley Ernst and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his Wife Margaret A. Regan, Two sisters, Iva Downing and Mary Greiser and a brother John J. Regan
Tim was, most recently, a resident of the Vincentian Personal Care Facility in McCandless Township. The family thanks the staff of Vincentian for the excellent care and friendship that they gave to Tim over his years there. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the William F. Conroy Funeral Home, Inc., 2944 Chartiers Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15204. A private, grave-side service with military honors will be held in Hollywood Memorial Park, Sheraden.
