Samuel M. Palombini, Sr
April 21, 1930 - January 17, 2023
Sam passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his wife and family at the age of 92. He was the son of the late Sabatino and Enrica Palombini. He is survived by the love of his life, Elaine (Dede) DeAngelis, to whom he was happily married for 71 years. Loving father of Kathy Cicirello (Frank), Susie Kiesel, Jo Petercuskie (Gary), Sam Palombini, Jr. (Eileen). Proud grandfather of Brandy(Dave) Hamm, Neena (Kevin) Kerr, Courtney (Eric) Esken, Tyler Cicirello, Ron (Kirsten) Kiesel, Jarett Cicirello, Amanda Palombini, Evan Cicirello, Natalie (Kent Swanson) Palombini, Samuel (Lindsay)Palombini, Katrina (Andrew) Matthews, Alisa (Tommy) Galt, and Matthew Petercuskie. Cherished great grandfather “Nonno” to Tristan, Leyton and Talon Esken, Gage Hamm, Xavi and Luca Kerr, Sammy and Milo Palombini and Roxston Swanson. He will be greatly missed by all of those whose lives he has touched including his sister-in-law, Corinne Wilke, his many nieces and nephews, friends and neighbors.
He was born, raised and resided in Sheraden and was a pillar of the community. He was a proud member of Steamfitters Local 449 for 71 years. He was actively involved in many local organizations including Sheraden Youth Football, Holy Innocents Parish and Sheraden Community Council. He received the Jefferson Award in recognition of outstanding Public Service. In 2020 the Kiwanis Club of Sheraden dedicated the Sam Palombini Community Garden in honor of his beautification efforts throughout the community.
Many were blessed to have known his kindness and generosity.
Family and friends are welcomed on SATURDAY 6-8 pm and SUNDAY 1-3 and 6-8 pm at the William F. Conroy Funeral Home, 2944 Chartiers Avenue, Sheraden. Funeral Mass on Monday,10 am at Ascension Church, St. Philip Catholic Parish, 114 Berry St. Pgh 15205. EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH. Interment to follow at Holy Souls Cemetery.
