Lucille S. Chebatoris (Mascaro)

Age 94, formerly of Sheraden, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 10, 2023. Beloved wife of the late Walter Chebatoris, Jr.; loving mother of Kurt (Sharon) Chebatoris, Mary Jo (Geoffrey) Metzler, and the late Mark Chebatoris; grandmother of Alicia (Jeremy) Groznik, Alec Chebatoris, Jessie (William Fleming), Paul (Lauren) Metzler, Nikki Ball, Jason and Mark Chebatoris, Jr.; great-grandmother of Luke Groznik; sister of the late Joe, and Anthony Mascaro, and Rachel Arrigo.

Lucille was a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Her Christmas celebrations were legendary and she made her grandchildren some of the happiest kids in the world. Lucille never forgot a birthday or anniversary. She always sent cards and if you lived in Pittsburgh she would treat you to lunch to celebrate. She would also call you and sing a special version of “Happy Birthday”. She genuinely loved people and made many, many friends over the years. When she and Walt went on a trip to England to visit where he had served in WWII, she insisted they should try to find the gal he dated during the war. With a little investigation, she found “Phyllis” and went knocking on her door. They became fast friends and stayed in touch until Phyllis passed away several years ago.

After raising her children, she worked at The Medicine Shoppe in Crafton. It was a job that she enjoyed for many years. She loved to travel and took three road trips around the US and Canada with her beloved husband. They visited friends who had moved away and checked out many of our National Parks. She had a spoon and magnet collection that was second to none! Lucille will be dearly missed.

At Lucille's request, services will be private. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers (she really didn't like flowers), please donate to the Alzheimer’s Association (act.alz.org). Arrangements by the William F. Conroy Funeral Home, Inc., Sheraden. (412)331-5192.
