Age 89, formerly of Sheraden, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 10, 2026. Beloved wife of the late Robert Rogers; loving mother of Bobby (Kim), Wim (Lori), Keith (Kathy), Pat (Mary Beth) Rogers, and the late Kim Dowiak; mother-in-law of Rich Dowiak. Sister of Ed (Lil), and Gary (Sarah) Smith and the late Joyce Rubinoski. Sister-in-law of Al Rubinoski. Proud grandmother of Shannon Quinn (Shawn), Melanie Walter (Matt), Zachary (Noelle), Kelsey, Jack, and Dylan Rogers, Ryan (Laura), Derek (Kasey) Dowiak, Casey (Ryan) Betzler and the late Neely Rogers; also 15 great-grandchildren.
Janice cherished every moment spent with her family and friends. She was well known in the community as the driver of the 109 School Bus and as the crossing guard at the St. Martin/Obey House stop, where she greeted generations of children with care and kindness. Janice also treasured the time spent with friends at the family lake house in Conneaut Lake, Pennsylvania. As the eldest child of the family who founded Smitty’s in Sheraden, she carried a deep pride in her family roots and the community they helped build.
Family and friends are welcomed Thursday from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at the William F. Conroy Funeral Home, Inc., Burial and Cremation Services, 2944 Chartiers Ave., Sheraden, 412-331-5192. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 AM on Friday at St. Philip Parish, Ascension Church, 114 Berry Street, Pittsburgh, 15205. EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH. Entombment in Resurrection Cemetery.
