Age 89, on Friday, June 27, 2014. Jane was a long time resident of Sheraden. Beloved wife of 66 years to the late Harold J. Schlegel. Survived by her children, Jane Royal, John Schlegel, Pamela (Kirk) Howe and Wendy (Donald Moore) Schlegel; 9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Sister to Grace Priestley. Despite dealing with the after affects of polio all her life, Jane was a creative person who enjoyed sewing, needlepoint and singing both in her church choir and with Sweet Adelines. Her children knew her as a loving and wise mother whose support was unflagging and whose council was always respected. A memorial service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at the Sheraden United Methodist Church, 2966 Chartiers Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15204. Memorial contributions can be made to Oakleaf Activities Fund to aid the residents the opportunity to participate in community outings.
