Evelyn “Evica” Brnilovich Mastros, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 24th, surrounded by the love and comfort of her family. The daughter of proud Serbian immigrants, Djuro “George” and Anjelka “Angie” Brnilovich, Evelyn was a remarkable woman whose presence left an impression on everyone she met. She was a force of nature — fearless, vibrant, and unapologetically herself, always moving through life to the rhythm of her own drum.
Evelyn’s generous heart and radiant spirit touched countless lives. She had a rare gift for making people feel truly seen, valued, and loved. Though her absence will be deeply felt, the memories she created and the love she shared will continue to live on in all who were fortunate enough to know her.
She is survived by her husband, Nick Mastros; her beloved daughter, Nicole Mastros; her sister, Melissa Brnilovich D’Itri, niece Angelina D’Itri, and nephew Dante D’Itri; her brother Ned Brnilovich and his partner Jennifer Sines; her nephews George Brnilovich and Sam Brnilovich; her great-niece Camille Brnilovich; and great-nephews Georgie Brnilovich, Neil Brnilovich, and Josif Brnilovich.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 419 S. Dithridge St., Oakland on SATURDAY, June 27th from 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM.
