Edward J. Herman III passed away on July 1, 2025, after bravely battling cancer, leaving us at the age of 68. Born and raised in Elliott, he was the son of Edward J. Herman Jr. and the late Helen Herman (Barth). Ed is survived by his beloved wife Diane Herman, his daughters Angela and Susan Herman, and was a cherished Pap to David, Cj, Autumn, Braydn Phillips, Kiera, Kitonna Harris, and Stevie Jackson. He was also a proud uncle to Alexis and Tyler Herman, and a brother to Gary Herman. Ed will be fondly remembered by his cousin Debbie Herman and numerous other cousins.
After over 30 years of dedicated service, Ed retired from the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. In his leisure time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing the lottery, and cherished moments spent with his family. Known for his selflessness, Ed always prioritized the well-being of others over his own needs. He leaves behind a legacy of love and care that will be deeply missed by his many friends and family members.
