Age 82, on Sunday, April 13, 2014 of Sheraden. Husband of the late Marjorie J. (Donovan) Hamer; father of Edward J. (Pam), Mickey (Jill) Hamer, Ginny A. Hamer-Kropf, Margie J. (Gil) Ruffing and Max (Ann) Hamer; brother of Mary Ellen (Nelson) LoPinto, Bob (Jeanette) Hamer and the late Jean Lane and Terry Johns; brother in law of Richard Johns; 19 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; also several nieces and nephews. Ed was affectionately known as “Smoothie” and was passionately involved with Crafton Little Cougars Football, Sheraden Baseball Association and Sheraden Community Council. He shared his love of music with his children and grandchildren.   Friends received Tuesday and Wednesday 2-4 & 6-8 PM at WILLIAM F. CONROY FUNERAL HOME, 2944 Chartiers Ave., Sheraden. Funeral Service Thursday, 9:30 a.m. in Ascension Roman Catholic Church, Ingram.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Sheraden Community Council or the Alzheimer’s Association. http://www.alz.org/pa/
