Catherine A. Lach, lovingly known as “Sissy,” was born on December 29, 1945, and passed away peacefully in the comfort of her own home on Thursday afternoon, January 15, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brothers, John Lach and David "Ducky" Hendrick and her nephew Brian Lach.
Catherine is survived by her loving siblings: Patricia Stevens; James (Celeste) Lach; William (Jerry) Hendrick ; Michael (Bert) Hendrick; Rosanne Hendrick; Barbara Hendrick; Karen (Geno) Mazza; Mark Hendrick; Lori (Brian) Ferris; and Dan (Gina) Hendrick; sister-in-law of Sharon Lach and Luann Hendrick; along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family who loved her dearly.
As the oldest of thirteen siblings, Cathy naturally took on the role of caretaker and protector, always putting her family first and making sure everyone was taken care of. Her strength, guidance, and love shaped the lives of those around her. Cathy dedicated over 20 years of her life as a U.S. Steelworker, a testament to her strong work ethic and determination. She was a woman of deep faith who found joy in spending time with her family, going to church, watching all of the Harry Potter films, and simply enjoying life. She especially loved going to the casino and playing bingo, pastimes that brought her excitement, laughter, and happiness.
Catherine will be remembered for her caring heart, unwavering faith, and the love she shared so freely. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
