Barry Lopez, an IT Recruiting Professional, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. His battle with some serious medical issues in recent years showed his courage in facing the challenges. Despite the pain, Barry came out a hero and stayed strong until the end. Barry is survived by his wife, Linda Lopez (Homer), their son, Nicholas Lopez, his mother, Priscilla (Manges) Lopez, his sister Sandy (Lopez) Nicholson, residing in Florida, and was preceded in death by his father, Joseph “Ping” Lopez.
Barry graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 1970 and opened his company, Cameron of Pittsburgh, Inc., placing IT professionals with major companies in Pittsburgh and the surrounding states. He enjoyed his career and the business relationships he made over 35+ years. Barry graduated from McKeesport High School, Class of 1966. In 2012, after early retirement, Barry was diagnosed with scleroderma which severely affected his lungs. Barry received a double lung transplant from UPMC and recovered to do all the things he loved such as golfing and fishing all over the United States and the Caribbean. We are forever grateful to his donor. Barry honored his donors legacy by living his life to the fullest. In 1977, Barry married Linda Lopez, an Interior Designer, and they have one son, Nicholas Lopez, who graduated as a Doctor of Physical Therapy and is a partner in Above & Beyond Physical Therapy in Washington, PA.
Barry was a devoted father and had strong ties with many of his sons friends at CanonMac. Barry was a regular at all his sons sporting events and even attended football practices to watch Nick and his teammates. He was a golfer and member at The Club at Nevillewood, an avid fisherman, a scuba diver, and loved driving his '59 ‘vette. His magnanimous personality was contagious and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
We love you and miss you more than words can express. Until we meet again.
