Of Mt Lebanon, age 70 on Friday, July 12, 2013. Beloved wife of the late Ronald R. Strelecki; devoted mother of Carey Ann Strelecki (Richard William Toenes) and Ronald Jeffrey (Anna Christensen) Strelecki; daughter of the late Richard Edward and Mary Haney Devlin, sister of Patricia (the late Dominick) Franchina, Eleanor (Edward) Imber, John (the late Sue Wilkens) Devlin, Richard (Margie) Devlin, James (Rita) Devlin, Carol Ann Devlin Fanning and the late Mary Louise (Richard) Hannan. Survived by her life long best friend Judy Reisdorf Bridges and many wonderful nieces and nephews. “Bobbie Jean” attended Holy Innocents in Sheraden with her sisters and brothers and lifelong best friend Judy Reisdorf Bridges. She had a beautiful singing voice and was an original member of the group that became the Skyliners. After high school Barbara studied literature at Duquesne University, where she met the love of her life, Ronald “Jake” Strelecki. After raising a family, she was passionate in serving youth and their families at the George Junior Republic Family Therapy Unit. Barbara was an avid reader, gifted artist and poet and talented actress. She volunteered her time to Mt Lebanon’s Readers Theater Program and to reading to children at the Dubnoff Center for Child Development whose library she helped rebuild in Los Angeles. She always offered an eager ear to listen and a shoulder to cry on, and loved to laugh and joke. A warm and loving person, she will always be remembered to her children as their “Dear, Old Sainted Irish Mother,” a term she herself invented. Friends received TUESDAY 5-8 p.m. at the William F. Conroy Funeral Home, 2944 Chartiers Ave., Sheraden. Funeral Mass on Wednesday at 9 a.m. in Holy Innocents Church. Interment in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies in Bridgeville, PA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation (kidney.org).
