Barbara Ellis Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that the Ellis Family announces the passing of their beloved mother. Barbara surrendered her Spirit to our Lord Jesus Christ on June 6, 2026, shortly after the last of her children made it to her bedside. Barb is survived by her 13 children: Kitty, Danny (Lorraine), Pat (the late Debbie), Timmy (MaryJo), Dennis (Kathy), Rege (Bonnie), Jerry, Rich, Sister Irene (SHS), Susie (the late Britt Welch), Joan Stillwell, Zubby, and Joey (Michele) Ellis. She also leaves behind a devoted nephew, William Edwards.

Barb is affectionately known as Grandma Bitchy Barb by all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Grandchildren: Jackie Redish, Dawn Bofo (Joe), Missy Peach (David), Elisha, Holly Hitchens (Scott), John, Cassie Hall (Mark), Sunni Williams (Curtis), Amber, J.J. (Jessica), Sara Harris (JoJo), Linzy Douds (Austin), Demi Lewin, Bailey, Evan (Liv), ZeeJay, Britt II (Erin) & Matt (Emily) Welch,   Ian, Zoe, Riley, Belle, Tommy, Ozzy, Xander, & Emmy Ellis and Trinity & Logan Stillwell.

Great-grandchildren: Erik Adamski, Jayson & Vinny Bofo, Myles Redish, Talen, Aiden & Brooke Hall, Serenity, Quincy, Zeke, Leona & Athena Harris, Elsie & Tegan Gorchock, Harper & Kyrie Williams, Izzy, MacKenzie, & Dexter Ellis;   Georgie & Anderson Hitchens, Kenzie-Jean Douds, and Dalton Welch.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, John “Sonny” Ellis; her mother, Lenora Andrea; her brother, William Edwards; her late son-in-law, Joe Stillwell; and her loving companion, Harry McMurray.

Barbara will be remembered for her kindness, compassion, and great sense of humor. She gave those around her a living example of the gospel through fostering to those in need. She was always ready to help someone back on their feet, whether through a listening ear, a hot meal, or a place to sleep. Her love was inclusive and unconditional, reaching far beyond her own family. The love she so freely gave will never be forgotten.
