Arthur H. Butter
Arthur H. Butter of Crafton, Pennsylvania, passed away on September 8, 2023. He was 80 years old. Arthur, fondly known as Art or Artie, was born on June 4, 1943, in McKees Rocks, the youngest of ten children to the late Henry and Minnie (Perschey) Butter.
Early in his life, Art worked as a grocer at Krobot’s Foodmart (later Foodland) in Sheraden. It was there that he met the love of his life, Elizabeth A. Clark of Sheraden. The couple tied the knot on July 16, 1977, and together, they raised two wonderful sons in Crafton. In his later years, Art filled his days by doting on his beloved cats, taking excursions to the casino, and proudly bragging about his sons to anyone who would lend an ear.
Those who were fortunate to have Art in their lives will deeply miss his warmth, humor, and never-ending stories, most of which were probably true. Above all, we are thankful to God that he had the opportunity to see his sons grow up and get married, and to meet his three cherished grandchildren. Earlier this summer, he celebrated his 80th birthday with his closest family and friends.
He leaves behind his loving sisters, Donna Lee Puff and Jeannette Sideritch; numerous nieces and nephews; his devoted wife, Liz; his sons, Dan and Matt; daughters-in-law, Beth and Kristen; and adored grandchildren, Hannah, Cameron, and Emma.
A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Philip Catholic Church, 50 W.Crafton Avenue, Crafton on FRIDAY, September 15 at 12:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
